The SmartGene Bacteria 16S module continues to grow to cover more species.
On April 11, 2022, the IDNS 16S Centroids database and the Centroid annotations to records in the IDNS 16S rDNA Eubacteria database within the SmartGene Bacteria modules were updated.
The IDNS 16S Centroids database has now grown to cover more than 16k species representing a total of 3,226 genera.
In the IDNS 16S rDNA Eubacteria database, more than 555k of a total of almost 1.1 million entries are now annotated with confidence values (and other Centroids-related annotations) to facilitate searches for matching species variants. The remaining entries are either not named with a valid species name (according to www.dsmz.de), have sequence irregularities, or have been submitted very recently.
Note: SmartGene's Centroid annotation process is a patented procedure.
